Today, I am celebrating democracy... the restoration of democracy.
I celebrated it with a boodle fight, ironically a supposed fight over food. Those who can grab and eat food fast are probably starved (will burp) and those who ate slow, are probably having indigestion or are suffering toothache. Hehehe.
Today, I am in yellow.
I am reminiscing Benigno Aquino Jr., husband of the former president of this republic and father of the most popular and witty Kris.
I do not know him personally but I know him through books. I know how his family and this nation struggled 'for justice because of his assassination.' But, I'd like to celebrate more how his death became the bulwark of peoples' inspiration to work hard for the restoration of democracy from the tyranny of political decadence and martial rule. He is the icon of Edsa Revolution (1986). He has become the essence of democracy, the heart of our freedom.
Today, my celebration is a celebration with a crowd who graduated from a 3-day course on security management as the current full pledged "civilian volunteer organization (CVO)" of Kolambugan town in Lanao del Norte.
This they do to protect their community from attacks of armed groups and to prepare themselves for disastrous eventualities (knocks on the wood.)
I am in yellow.
And, I am wishing well that Filipinos still remember Ninoy and Edsa Revolution too.
